British Association for Applied Linguistics Conference (BAAL2024)

HKU RIICH participated in this conference themed "Applied Linguistics in Contemporary Contexts: Practices, Approaches, and Future Directions." The conference invited participants to explore and discuss the contributions of applied linguistics in addressing current issues and challenges. The theme provided an opportunity to reflect on evolving practices and approaches necessary for adapting to contemporary contexts, while also considering the future role of applied linguistics within increasingly interdisciplinary fields. Submissions were especially encouraged to engage with topics such as multilingualism, the role of applied linguistics in interdisciplinary research, social justice, and the integration of emerging technologies in social, educational, and workplace settings.
