The Hospital Authority Convention and The Asia Summit on Global Health

HKU RIICH and the Centre for the Humanities and Medicine (University of Hong Kong) is grateful for the invitations from Professor Diane Slade (The Australian National University) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Our director Professor Olga Zayts-Spence and postdoctoral fellow Dr. Jasper Zhao Zhen Wu were delighted to take part in the two events that took place on 11-13 May 2026: the Hospital Authority Convention and the Asia Summit on Global Health. The events showcased a broad range of cutting-edge clinical and wellbeing technologies, and highlighted the strategic foci on:

• Transnational collaboration in global public health policy design;

• AI-inflected transformations in healthcare practice and research; and,

• Silver health innovations developed in clinical, corporate and research sectors

​

In resonance with these strategic foci, the RIICH&CHM has been actively taking part in the dialogues on silver health and AI-in-health. The two latest articles by Professor Zayts-Spence on silver health have been published the leading journal Social Sciences & Medicine, and the specialist journal Language & Health; the articles offer novel insights into the menopausal health of women in Greater China.

Professor Zayts-Spence and Dr. Wu will be presenting on AI and mental health literacy at the Conference on Applied Linguistics and Professional Practice (ALAPP) in New York this September. Stay tuned for more updates!
